Former President Donald Trump claims he won the presidential debate Tuesday night and sees no need for a rematch with Vice President Kamala Harris.
In a Truth Social post Wednesday, Mr. Trump likened the debate to a boxing match and suggested only losers demand a rematch. “In the World of Boxing or UFC, when a Fighter gets beaten or knocked out they get up and scream, ‘I DEMAND A REMATCH, I DEMAND A REMATCH!” he wrote.
“Well, it’s no different with a Debate. She was beaten badly last night. Every Poll has us WINNING, in one case, 92-8, so why would I do a Rematch?”
Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris duked it out on the Philadelphia debate stage. It was the first time the two met.
Ms. Harris’ campaign called for a second presidential debate shortly after the ABC News face-off ended.
A CNN flash poll after the debate found that 63% of debate watchers said Ms. Harris won. A Fox News voter panel had 12 people say Ms. Harris was the winner versus five for Mr. Trump.

“Trump was so bad, he’s just like an old suit from like 1987 right now. He just repeats himself, says the same stuff, and she’s refreshing in that she’s different,” one voter said, according to Fox. “I think if he had a different line of attack with her, it would have been more effective.”
In a Truth Social post Tuesday night, Mr. Trump said he thought it was his “best debate, ever, especially since it was three on one,” referring to how the ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Harris teamed up with Ms. Harris against him.
