According to a shocking press release from California’s Tustin Police Department that was released on the afternoon of Monday, June 17, a Secret Service agent was involved in a robbery and shooting incident in a local residential facility. The agent apparently opened fire on the suspected thief, but it was, as of the time the release came out, unknown who the suspect or suspects are and if he or they were injured. Tustin is in the Los Angeles area.

As background, President Joe Biden recently traveled to California for a star-studded fundraiser. The event, which took place in the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A., was meant to raise money for his seemingly faltering re-election bid. While there, he was joined by, amongst many others, former President Barack Obama, George Clooney, and Julia Roberts.

But also, while there, a Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint while in a local residential community. Such is what the Tustin Police Department noted in its press release, saying that the suspect(s) were unknown and that the Secret Service agent managed to open fire on the alleged robber during the altercation.

Beginning, the statement provided, “On Saturday, June 15, 2024 at approximately 9:36 p.m., Tustin Police Officers responded to a call of a possible robbery that just occurred at the Tustin Fields I residential community. On arrival, officers discovered the victim was a member of the U.S. Secret Service and his bag was stolen at gunpoint.”

Continuing, the statement added, “During the incident an officer(agent) involved shooting occurred. The suspect(s) were not located and it is unknown at this time whether the suspect(s) were injured as a result of the incident. Officers have located some of the victim’s belongings in the area and the incident is still being investigated. There is no known threat to the public.”

The release then noted, “A 2004-2006 silver Infiniti FX35 or vehicle similar was seen leaving the scene. The suspect vehicle is pictured below. The Tustin Police Department is looking for help from the public in identifying the subject(s) involved in this crime. During the fundraiser event, President Biden claimed that the economy is doing great. Beginning that, he told Jimmy Kimmel that the goal of his administration, which has seen painfully high levels of inflation, is to give the average person “an even chance.” He said, “But I think what we’ve tried to do from the beginning — and it’s a follow on from when I was vice president — we tried to give ordinary people an even chance, just a chance. Everybody has a chance. And that’s what’s happening.”

Continuing, he claimed the economy is in an excellent spot, saying, “And guess what? It’s growing. The economy is growing. People are doing better. We have the highest unemployment — the highest — the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years. We have more people — we’ve had over 50 million people, brand new, hired into the workforce.”

Also during the event, President Biden appeared to be led off the stage by former President Obama, an incident that led to much commentary online and claims from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that the videos had been deceptively edited to make President Biden look bad.
