A Nantucket newspaper has gone viral over its trolling of a Tesla Cybertruck that has been causing annoyances for locals since arriving on the affluent island last week.

The clunky silver electric personal vehicle, which retails for up to $101,985, has been creating issues ever since it was first spotted being driven off the Steamship Authority ferry and onto the New England island Thursday, the Nantucket Current said.

The space-age-looking vehicle, which has been dubbed an “eyesore” by critics, quickly caught the eye of locals — and the newspaper has been sharing images of the vehicle’s mishaps since then on X.

Soon after arriving in Nantucket, the costly car — which has Connecticut plates — was seen parked squarely on a crosswalk on Main Street.

“Cyber truck makes an appearance on Main Street, immediately parks on crosswalk,” the paper wrote on X.

Hours after, the large vehicle, the first of its kind to make an appearance in the town of about 14,000, got stuck in the sand at Eel Point, a beach full of dunes on the west end of the island.

According to the paper, a crowd of people came to watch the gaudy car get pulled out, while its driver, who has not been named, was described as “super nice … just a first-timer who made the standard mistakes.”

Video shared on the paper’s X account showed the vehicle driving aimlessly around the beach, and photos captured the car’s tires stuck in the sand at the time.

The paper also shared a video of the truck stopping traffic to back up on a street so it could make a turn that it had missed.

The Nantucket Current questioned whether the truck’s bizarre set of mishaps could have been a stunt and assured readers that it would continue to investigate.

Tesla was recently forced to recall nearly 4,000 of the futuristic trucks because of an issue causing their gas pedal to get stuck when pressed.
