(Washington, D.C.) Rep. Adam Schiff claimed after a Republican lawmaker took the last cob salad at lunch break during a congressional hearing was clearly the “work of Russia.”

“Republicans time and again like to claim that they are not agents of Russia or are not working on behalf of Putin, but here again, we see that’s not true,” Schiff told reporters outside the congressional lunch room. “They knew I had my eye on that last cob salad, and after getting their marching orders from Moscow, they moved quickly to intercept it and then have one GOP member quickly devour it so I didn’t get any. I don’t know how much clearer the Russian collusion can get at this point.”

Told that the chef offered to make another cob salad for him, Schiff dismissed it as “Russian propaganda.” He added: “I can’t believe you fell for that.”
