Mark Robertson is running to be the Republican nominee for U.S. House of Representatives in Nevada’s 1st Congressional District. He bills himself as a strong conservative and military veteran who will put America first if elected.

However, Robertson’s record of hypocrisy and financial irresponsibility indicate that he is selling the voters of Nevada a bill of goods in the hopes to become the next career politician of the Washington D.C. swamp.

Robertson’s history of bankruptcies and rank hypocrisy on issues like abortion, immigration and election integrity show that he is the wrong choice for Nevada voters seeking for a departure from the Uni-party status quo.

In 2022, Mark Robertson – during his first failed run for Congress – said that he supported a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants who came to the country as children, called by Democrats as “DACA children” or “DREAMers,” in a Democrat-pushed scheme that allows anchor babies to inalterably change the demographics of America.

On his campaign website, Robertson advocated for a relaxed immigration system that would allow for a drastic increase in legal immigration. He also wanted “the DACA children to remain in the United States as long as they make progress toward earning citizenship.”

Two years later, Robertson has clearly sensed that the political winds are changing and has flip-flopped on the issue, adopting a stronger stance on illegal immigration.

“I will fight to strengthen current measures to control our borders – turn off the illegal flow of people coming into our country. This is a matter of national security. A country that does not control who is coming in puts the security of its citizens at risk. Immediately end chain migration, visa lotteries, and vacation-birth citizenship. Develop a simplified legal status verification system that allows employers to know whether a prospective employee is legally in the United States,” Robertson stated on his current 2024 campaign website.

In addition to his about-face on immigration, Robertson has also wavered on the crucial issue of election integrity. Robertson now accepts the legitimacy of Joe Biden’s coronation and denies the verifiable fraud that occurred in the 2020 presidential election.

“Recent events of the 2020 election have raised legitimate concerns about the integrity and fairness of the electoral process. Congress should conduct an extensive bipartisan review, in a nonelection year, of the security, fairness and integrity of the election process, with the goal of guaranteeing as much as possible that the vote of each eligible, legal voter is easily cast and accurately counted,” Robertson stated on his website during his failed Congressional campaign in 2022.

But just a couple years later, Robertson is now spitting in the faces of the vote fraud whistleblowers whose rights were violated on election night in 2020. He now calls suggestions that election fraud occurred in 2020 “dumb” and no longer considers election integrity a concern, with nary a mention of the issue on his Congressional campaign website. Robertson blamed 46,000 registered Republicans not showing up to vote in his 1st Congressional District race in 2022 on concerns about election fraud, rather than his own inability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm among his core voter base.

Robertson, a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army, has also established himself as a military hawk. His stance on Ukraine funding shows how Robertson is ‘America Last’ when it comes to foreign policy.

“I applaud the Ukrainians for fighting for their own country and I think it is the right thing that we have been giving military support,” Robertson said during an appearance on 8 News Now – Las Vegas, stopping just short of putting boots on the ground in the country.

During his failed run for Congress in 2022, Robertson came off as a staunch pro-life advocate. He praised the Dobbs decision that reversed the long-standing Roe v. Wade precedent. Robertson stated on his campaign website that women “should not be able to terminate the life, which is created, as a natural consequence of their actions” while supporting an exception for rape, incest or if the health of the mother is at risk because a woman in that case is “denied the freedom of choosing her actions.”

Robertson initially ran in 2022 on banning federal funding for abortion, but he quietly removed that language from his website in the lead-up to the general election, already distancing himself from his previous pro-life stances. He then came out against a federal ban on abortion at 15 weeks before alienating conservative Nevada voters and losing his Congressional race in 2022.

During his 2024 Congressional campaign, Robertson has thrown in the towel on the issue of abortion completely, stating that “abortion is settled law in Nevada.” He is fine with the Nevada limits of abortion up to 24 weeks in which the baby is well-developed and can already feel pain. Robertson wants to sweep the issue of abortion under the rug completely.

“In the coming days leading up to the elections, you will hear [U.S. Congresswoman Dina] Titus and others talk about abortion. They will bring it up because they don’t want you thinking about inflation, the border crisis, crime, or our failing schools. Remember, the people of Nevada have already spoken on abortion – it is settled law,” Robertson said in a Facebook post, refusing to defend life on the campaign trail.

Despite touting himself as a serious fiscal conservative, Robertson’s history of financial failure demonstrates that he is unqualified to help America out of its profligate economic status quo.

According to bankruptcy court documents, Mark Robertson and his wife Lisa filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in May 2005 over what he described as a “failed” auto repair shop business. According to the claim, he owed an estimated sum of $50,000-$100,000 to between 50-99 creditors.

The 2005 bankruptcy filing also showed that Robertson owed $1,308.07 in child support from a previous marriage, and he owed $14,500 in unpaid income taxes to the IRS. Additionally, the filing showed that Robertson previously filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in Idaho in September 2000.

The record makes Robertson unfit for Congressional office. The voters of Nevada’s 1st Congressional District would be wise to reject Robertson, or they will likely surrender a winnable seat to a Democrat for the second election in a row.
