President Joe Biden has made such a mess of the nation’s immigration system that a majority of the population now wants the government to conduct mass deportation raids.
According to a new poll from Axios, 51% of the population wants to see the government conduct mass deportations of illegal immigrants. Perhaps most astonishing is that the policy is supported by 42% of Democrats, indicating that even the president’s own party is fed up with his handling of the issue.
Of course, during his term in office, Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have made a mockery of the nation’s immigration laws and have even fought efforts by border states to make up for the federal government’s failures. Cities such as New York and Chicago have begged for massive bailouts as buses from border states transport thousands of illegal immigrants to these large cities.
Amid this massive strain on the nation’s infrastructure, it is no surprise that a majority of people want to see the government step up and enforce the nation’s immigration laws. In fact, the same poll found that 68% of respondents believe illegal immigration “causes major problems in communities.”
It is no wonder then that Biden is trailing former President Donald Trump in nearly every single swing state and in several national polls. By the end of the first three years under Trump, the border was under control, and policies such as “Remain in Mexico” significantly cut down on the number of illegal crossings.

The public has lived with the effects of Biden’s porous border for long enough that it has pushed them to support a policy that many consider to be among the most draconian. At this point, Trump is the only presidential candidate who is offering a tangible solution to a problem that has made its way into communities that had historically never been affected by illegal immigration.
If voters return Trump to the White House in November, Biden’s refusal to secure the border will be a big reason why.
