After much speculation, Former President Donald Trump  dismissed reports that he will select former United Nations Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley as his vice presidential candidate.

In a post Trump made on Truth Social on May 11, 2024, he declared that Haley “ is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well!” His remarks came after an Axios report speculated that Trump was considering Haley as his potential vice presidential candidate.

Donald Trump “If anyone other that DJT says they know who, when, or where he is on VP, they’re not” telling the truth, a Trump campaign official said to The Hill.

Haley was a candidate in the Republican primary and was the last candidate to remain in the race to challenge Trump, before ending her presidential campaign in March. Thus far, Haley has not endorsed Trump. 

In reality, Trump is considering several Republicans for the VP slot such as South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, Ohio Senator JD Vance,  North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum. New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, among others 

Following her decision to exit the 2024 presidential race, Haley joined the Hudson Institute, a nelconservative interventionist think tank, to be its Walter P. Stern chair. 

America First supporters of Trump can breathe a sigh of relief that Haley is no longer in the running for the VP slot. Haley represents the staunchly neoconservative wing of the GOP that promotes perpetual wars and mass migration. 

Nevertheless, the party remains a neocon factory that regularly churns out slimy politicians. So the grassroots will always have to remain vigilant.

It’s ultimately up to Trump’s most prominent supporters to continue holding Trump’s and his allies’ feet to the fire to guarantee that they make the right political decisions.
