The future of the automotive industry will be electric if Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats get their way.

Now, the awful reality facing the country is coming to light. 

And American drivers are facing this scary future because of Joe Biden’s electric vehicle scheme.

Drivers will be stranded in vast parts of the country with electric vehicles

The Democrat Party caters to the whims of the coastal urban elites in Democrat-controlled cities like New York and San Francisco.

President Joe Biden’s push to have the country switch to electric vehicles will be a nightmare for drivers in rural areas and smaller cities.

Electric vehicles have their range sapped when they deal with extreme heat or cold.

The hot summer in Twin Falls, Idaho is the worst-case scenario for them.

J-U-B Engineers Project Manager Kent Atkin told The Daily Signal that electric vehicles don’t mesh with living in rural and small-town Idaho.

“We’re expecting people to get stuck in extreme heat and cold,” Atkin said. “At 105-degree heat in the desert, if you’re stuck out there, you’re done. We’re used to reliability for safety in Idaho.”

Winters in Idaho often dip into the single digits, and summers can reach over 100 degrees

The batteries for electric vehicles lose between 10% and 36% of their range in cold weather.

And the extreme heat in the summer can permanently damage a battery, causing it to lose range.

It also takes longer to charge EV batteries in cold weather because the battery has to expend energy to keep itself warm.

A lack of charging stations outside cities

Twin Falls has 25 public charging stations, but the next closest city with them is around 120 miles away.

“If everyone had to drive an EV, they couldn’t,” Atkin said.

Atkin estimated that it would take up to $20 million to build the transmission lines and upgrade the grid to handle all the vehicles that would be charging.

And that would require taxpayers to fork over more money to pay for it.

“On paper, battery-powered trucks claim comparable towing capacity to gas-powered trucks; however, the heavier the load, the greater the loss of range of the vehicle. In head-to-head testing, a Ford F-150 carrying a 1,400-pound load in its bed lost 14% of its projected range. In comparison, a 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning (Ford’s EV model of the same truck) lost almost 25% of its projected range,” The Daily Signal reported.

The Biden Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created strict new tailpipe emission standards that require nearly 70% of all new vehicles sold to be electric by 2032.

California banned the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles by 2025.

Electric vehicles are designed for urban environments where drivers don’t have to travel long distances.

And there are plenty of charging stations in the area.

Drivers living in rural and suburban areas are out of luck.

But Democrats don’t care that people living in these areas are going to suffer under their electric vehicle mandate.

The Democrat Party is being run for the benefit of San Francisco and New York elites.
