The US Secret Service is investigating social media posts made by a high school teacher in New Jersey that allegedly threatened President Donald Trump.
Fred Wilson, a special education and social studies teacher at Egg Harbor Township High School, wrote in an alleged post, “I think we are at the moment where assassination is at least a talking point.” Wilson’s post gained widespread attention after it was shared by the Libs of TikTok account on X.
According to a report by the New York Post, the Secret Service confirmed it is “aware of the incident involving comments made online by a teacher in the Egg Harbor Township, NJ” and “takes all threats related to our protectees seriously.”
Wilson had also posted, “F*** Trump and F*** you for voting for him,” before deleting his Facebook account after the posts were exposed.
Egg Harbor Township Schools Superintendent Kim Gruccio stated that the school district is investigating the matter.
“The district is aware of the social media post that is circulating from one of our high school teachers. We take comments about and suggestions of violence very seriously,” Gruccio said in an email, according to the Press of Atlantic City. “The district is cooperating with law enforcement and is conducting an investigation; however, as this is a personnel matter under New Jersey law, I cannot comment further at this time.”
The alleged threats come after President Trump survived two major assassination attempts while campaigning, including one in Butler, Pennsylvania, that left him with a wound on his ear.
