Former First Lady Melania Trump recently sat down with Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt in a one-on-one interview that discussed a wide range of personal topics.  Promoting her upcoming memoir “Melania,” which is set to release next month, Trump touched on several issues, such as the “toxic atmosphere” that she blames for the assassination attempts against her husband.

For years, Democrats and the mainstream media have touted hostile narratives against former President Donald Trump, claiming he is an existential threat to Democracy who must be prevented from reassuming power by all means.  Such inflammatory rhetoric has been followed by multiple attacks against him, one of which very nearly ended his life in Butler, Pennsylvania ,earlier this year.

On July 13, in an abject failure of security protocol, a shooter managed to fire off multiple shots at Trump, with one grazing his ear after a miraculous last second head turn which saved his life.  Earlier this month, another man was accused of attempting to assassinate Trump at his West Palm Beach golf course but was fortunately thwarted by the Secret Service.

Commenting on the media coverage of the horrific attacks, Melania said, “You know, it’s interesting
how quiet and everything became, all of the mainstream media, there were a few days reporting about the July 13 event, and everything then became quiet.”  Conservative critics have pointed out that the mainstream media is largely indifferent to the attempted violence against her husband.

As a result, Melania explained how the entire situation has left her confused.  “So I had a lot of questions. What’s going on?”  The former first lady maintained that the media response is entirely abnormal, while creating a “toxic atmosphere,” that is provoking people to wish and attempt harm against the Republican presidential candidate.

“It’s…this is not normal, and is it really shocking that all this courageous violence goes against my husband, especially that we hear the leaders from the opposition party and mainstream media branding him as a threat to democracy, calling him vile names, they only fueling a toxic atmosphere and giving power all of these people that they want to do harm to him,” she explained.

Melania emphasized that these practices from the mainstream media must come to an end, calling for the nation to come together in unity.  “This needs to stop. This needs to stop. The country needs to unite. And I encourage everybody to read my letter that I wrote on July 14, again, because that cannot continue,” she told Earhardt in the interview.

The American Tribune recently reported on other comments from Melania during the critically acclaimed interview in which she recounted the early days of her romance with Trump, long before his entrance into national politics.  The former first lady described the first date she went on with Trump, where he took her to view one of his business properties outside the city.

Recalling the quality time she spent with Trump, Melania said, “It was very nice, because we were two of us alone in the car for hour, hour and a half, and it’s no other noise, no other people, because at that time, he was already known and a celebrity. So it was really nice to be just two of us.”  Earhardt then asked, “Did you fall in love? Then?”  Melania replied, “It was a connection. It was a connection.”
