Pastors Are Key in This Election

Pastors Are Key in This Election

Someone recently sent me a portion of a prophetic word from Robin Bullock [a prophet at Church International in Warrior, Alabama who has had much to say over the last several years about our federal government and the people running it]. I haven’t really followed Robin much lately, but a portion of his word really stuck out to me — especially since over the last few years he has usually highlighted the importance of prophets. But in this word, he points to the pastors as being the key in this hour – and key in this election. He uses the story of David and Goliath as an illustration:

“This is a giant genetically made election we are dealing with. It’s all about transgenderism, homosexuality, identifying with anybody you want to … any animal you want to … have sex with anything you want to … This is what we’re facing.

“God’s people are afraid to confront it. They are afraid they will be made a fool of in front of everybody. But here is the key. Shepherds are the key to this election. The shepherds. The pastors. I don’t care if they have but a few sheep. The shepherd is the key because giants fear shepherds. The genetically altered giant system is scared of pastors.

“The prophet anoints, but the pastors kill giants. It’s shepherds that kill giants, not prophets. Prophets bring the word of heaven, but pastors kill giants.”

I wholeheartedly agree with this word. I’ve been saying for the past two years that it is the church that needs to pave the way for breakthrough in this nation. And that means its leadership.

Time to Step Up

That’s why church leaders have been hit so hard lately and are now under intense scrutiny. But even as God continues to clean His house of hirelings and wolves, so is He calling on the true fivefold leaders in the Body of Christ to step up and lead. And though every “office” has its function, pastors are the majority in this nation. They are the ones who disciple the flock and train in righteousness. They are the ones who carry God’s heart for the sheep and the anointing to protect and defend. When they step up and lead the way, the people will follow.

Below is a prayer guide I made several years ago for pastoral leaders.

Let’s pray that our pastors find the courage and boldness of David in this hour and decide to step up. Let’s pray their hearts are gripped by a zeal of the Lord to defy the enemy and declare God’s Word. They will likely face much accusation – especially from their own brethren – but the giant must come down. Let’s get behind them and then follow their example.

Prayer Guide: Oneness of Heart and Mind in the Church

  1. Pray that the Church would have a unified and divine jealousy over the Bride of Christ.

…Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless (Ephesians 5:25-27 NIV).

For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body (Ephesians 5:29-30).

  1. Pray that believers would celebrate the Body of Christ with all its various parts, without comparisons or man-made expectations.

But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body (1 Corinthians 12:18- 20).

that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it (1 Corinthians 12:25-27).

  1. Pray for a corporate and collective faith that is firmly established in God’s Word.

…if indeed you continue in the faith, firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard… (Colossians 1:23).

And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect (Hebrews 11:39-40).

  1. Pray for one voice to arise from the Church that declares the good news of the Kingdom and the return of the Savior.

…Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:14-15 NIV)

“The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst” (Luke 17:20-21 NIV).

  1. Pray for an increased oneness in Kingdom values and that which is eternal.

Can two walk together unless they are agreed? (Amos 3:3 NKJV)

Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:2-4).

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight (Romans 12:16).

  1. Pray for various streams in the Body of Christ to flow together with the same unity as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

…Holy Father, keep them in Your name, which You have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one (John 17:11). This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree (1 John 5:6-8).

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24).

  1. Pray for the proper foundation of the apostolic and prophetic ministries to strengthen and build up the Body of Christ.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13).

The signs of a true apostle were performed among you with utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works (2 Corinthians 12:12). …I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires (2 Peter 3:1-3).

  1. Pray for a united vision to occupy until He comes.

And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, “Occupy till I come” (Luke 19:13 KJV).

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers (Acts 2:42).

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore (Psalm 133:1-3 KJV).
