Danny Amendola pumped the brakes on rumors that he and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie Xandra Pohl are dating.
The former Patriots wide receiver was asked about Pohl after she was seen sitting with his mom, Rose, when he made his debut on “Dancing With the Stars” on Sept. 17.
“No, Xandra is a great friend of mine,” Amendola told E! News when asked if they are in a relationship. “I’m a huge fan and supporter of her and it’s good to have a friend like her.”
Amendola, who won two Super Bowls alongside Tom Brady with the Patriots, said his mom “loves” Pohl.
Pohl, who is a DJ and TikTok star, was seen smiling and clapping while sitting with Amendola’s mom during the “DWTS” premiere, which took place in Los Angeles.
Amendola, 38, and Pohl, 23, stirred buzz online when they were seen together at Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Gillette Stadium on June 12.
At the time, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who was also at the event, fueled the dating rumors when he recalled seeing the pair sitting with Amendola’s former teammate Rob Gronkowski and his girlfriend, SI Swimsuit model Camille Kostek.
“So Xandra is dating Danny Amendola,” Portnoy said on his “BFFs” podcast with Josh Richards and Brianna Chickenfry, who noted that it was just “a rumor” at the time.
“I don’t know if dating is the right word. Well, I was there [at Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction]. They’re together,” Portnoy said. “Yeah, we saw it in action.
“They walked in … let me put it this way. Let me rephrase. Xandra was Danny Amendola’s date for this thing. What they’re doing beyond that — but he definitely took her as his date.”
Former Patriots wideout Julian Edelman shared a video on his Instagram Story, which featured Amendola and Pohl sitting together at a table with Kostek and Gronkowski at the time.
Pohl and Amendola are both believed to be single.
He previously dated Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Olivia Culpo from 2016-19.
Culpo married 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey in June.
Pohl was linked to former Chiefs player Louis Rees-Zammit in May, when they were seen together on a bus tour in Kansas City, and then at Worlds of Fun theme park.
She went through a public breakup in December 2023 with Jack Touzet, whom she dated for three years while she was enrolled at the University of Miami.
