During a recent interview on CNN, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi snapped at Jake Tapper when he brought up concerns raised by former President Donald Trump regarding Vice President Kamala Harris’ cognitive ability.  During a rally held in Savannah, Georgia, the Republican presidential candidate called out Harris, suggesting she isn’t fit for leadership in the executive branch.

During the Tuesday rally, Trump blasted Harris, suggesting that the world is “laughing at us,” and more specifically, laughing at Kamala Harris.  Trump also took a shot at the vice president, suggesting she has more “cognitive problems,” than President Biden, who has displayed an apparent decline in mental acuity throughout his presidency.

“You talk about cognitive problems – she’s got bigger cognitive problems than he has in my opinion,” he said about Harris, comparing her to Biden.  During the segment with Pelosi, Tapper brought up the recent remarks, stating, “Donald Trump saying that Kamala Harris has bigger cognitive issues than Joe Biden.”  However, Pelosi was not pleased with the left-leaning network amplifying Trump’s comments.

Snapping at Tapper, the former House Speaker said, “Why would you even cover that?! This is a person who’s not on the level,” Pelosi snapped, appearing to struggle to speak herself. “He is their nominee for President. He is incompetent. Let’s not even talk about the silliness of it all. And the weirdness of it all. And the assault on women that it is. We’re not gonna talk issues.”

Pelosi further railed against Trump, attacking his presidential record.  “The only thing he did as president. The only thing he did as president when he had the majority was to pass a bill – tax cuts – that gave 83 percent of the benefits to the top one percent adding $2trn to the national debt,” she said, “The worst job creation record of any president since Herbert Hoover.”

However, Tapper cut in, pushing back on Pelosi’s comments, suggesting the jobs record was the result of the economy being shut down due to the pandemic.  “Because of Covid?” the host said.  Dismissing Tapper’s comment, Pelosi continued,  “Well it’s not because of Covid, we put $3trn into the economy.”  She added, “And what did he do with Covid – denial and delay. Responsible for thousands and thousands of people dying so if you’re going to forgive his job record because of Covid make sure you attribute many of those deaths to him as well.”

Users on social media reacted to Nancy Pelosi’s commentary. Popular conservative X account  Johnny Maga wrote, “Pelosi just flipped out on Jake Tapper for reading Trump’s criticisms about Kamala’s intelligence, calls it an “assault on women” … They get very upset when the press even remotely acts like the press.”  Another user similarly wrote, “Same with Kamala she got so triggered when she got any slightly difficult question during her interview They just expect the media to be their pawns.”
