Former President Donald Trump recently sounded off on Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview with television personality Oprah Winfrey.  During a campaign stop in Pennsylvania, Trump called out the Democratic presidential candidate for failing to answer substantive questions about her record or platform while the United States “has gone to hell.”

Trump was recorded making the comments during a stop at Sprankles Market in Kittanning just before a highly anticipated rally in Indiana, PA.  While the former president was interacting with employees and patrons of the grocery store, he commented on Harris.  “It’s based on the fact that this woman is not capable. She was on Oprah and she couldn’t answer the most basic question,” Trump said, addressing Harris’ recent appearance with Oprah.

Trump pointed out that the past four years have been disastrous for the United States and that the nation cannot handle another four years of Kamala Harris’ leadership. Trump blasted the vice president’s interview with Oprah, maintaining that it failed to address pressing issues impacting American citizens, such as the economy and crime.

“We’ve gone through four years of that,” Trump added. “We’re not going to go through another four years of that. She couldn’t answer ANY questions that were … nobody knew what she was even talking about and she didn’t know what she was talking about. We had four years of that, our country has gone to hell. Inflation. Crime, look at the crime numbers.”

Harris was criticized during the Oprah appearance for struggling with basic questions, particularly those pertaining to the economic situation that many Americans have endured throughout the Biden-Harris administration. Harris delivered a word salad response when asked about her agenda to lower costs across the economy, as persistent inflation has been one of the most significant pain points for many voters.

Refusing to speak to her agenda directly, Harris said, “I know what your plan is to help lower the cost of living. yeah. first of all, thank you both for being here and yours is a story i hear around the country as i travel and in terms of both rightly having the right to have aspirations and dreams and ambitions for your family, and working hard and finding that the American dream is for this generation, and so many recently, far more elusive than it’s been, and we need to deal with that.”

Harris’ response was similar to how she handled another question about the economy during the presidential debate earlier this month. When moderator David Muir asked if Americans were better off now than they were under the Trump administration, Harris refused to answer the question directly, going on a similar tangent.

Harris said, “So I was raised as a middle class kid, and I am actually the only person on this stage who has a plan that is about lifting up the middle class and working people of America. I believe in the ambition, the aspirations, the dreams of the American people, and that is why I imagine and have actually a plan to build what I call an opportunity economy.”
