Speaking about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential ticket, Senator and Republican vice presidential pick JD Vance sounded off on both, arguing that they are essentially a two-of-a-kind “tag team” who both enabled BLM and Antifa rioters in the summer of 2020.

As background, after riots erupted in Minnesota following the death of George floyd in Minneapolis-St. Paul in May of 2020, Governor Walz was criticized for waiting multiple days to sell in the National Guard to quell the riots, a decision that critics say resulted in hundreds of businesses across the Twin Cities being destroyed. Kamala, meanwhile, promoted a bail fund for rioters called the Minnesota Freedom Fund.

Sen. Vance, sounding off on both Kamala and Gov. Walz, first said that Gov. Walz “has proposed defunding the police just as Kamala Harris does. ” Continuing, Gov. Walz said, “I think it’s interesting, actually. They make an interesting tag team because, of course, Tim Waltz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020. And then, the few who got caught, Kamala Harris helped them out of jail.”

Continuing, Gov. Walz noted that not only does the governor’s history show how radical he is, but the fact that Kamala chose him despite his radical background and incredible 2020 decisions, shows that she is extremely radical. He said, “My view on it is it just highlights how radical Kamala Harris is.”

He then argued that “it is more instructive for what it says about Kamala Harris that she doesn’t care about the border.” He built on that point arguing that not only is she uninterested in border security, but she’s also uninterested in solving the problem of crime. He said, “She doesn’t care about crime, she doesn’t care about American energy. And most importantly, she doesn’t care about the Americans who have been made to suffer under those policies.”

Predictably, commenters online praised Vance for the absolute destruction of both candidates. For example, a conservative X (formerly Twitter) personality named Rob Smith wrote, “Brutal @JDVance takes down Harris/Walz: ‘They make an interesting tag team because Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020, and the few that got caught, Kamala Harris helped bail them out of jail.’”

Similarly, Dr. Naomi Wolf said that the Vance line was quite a good campaign line from Sen. Vance and does a superb job of highlighting Kamala Harris’s radical sensibilities and Walz’s abysmal record. She said, “These are really really good tight campaign soundbites about Ms Harris’ record and about the American people. Relieved to see this.”

Many others chimed in as well. For example, the Libs of TikTok highlighted the same quote as above and wrote, “Absolute FIRE from JD Vance.” Similarly, a conservative X personality named Adam Johnson chimed in and wrote that Vance should push “This messaging all day, every day.” And the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show X account wrote, “Great line from @JDVance. Harris-Walz: Make America Burn Again.”

Another commenter noted that the riots were devastating, which is something that must not be forgotten. That commenter said, “Amen and Walz allowed those riots that harmed more poor people than rich. Don’t forget the citizens, many of color that were crying when their neighborhood stores were destroyed and they had no way to go anywhere else for food and medicine. I haven’t forgot and Americans should remember who were the victims of his poor decisions back then.”
