Former President Donald Trump insists he won the debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, Republican pollster Frank Luntz argues his performance was so rough it might be the factor that tilts the election away from him.

During an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, Luntz said the vice president may not have “won” the debate and suggested it is “more accurate” to say Trump lost it.

“And this is not the worst debate performance I’ve seen in my career, but it’s very close to it,” he said.

Luntz went on:

“The conversations about people eating dogs and cats, calling the leader of Hungary one of the greatest world leaders, repeatedly missing the opportunity to focus on inflation and affordability and the complete inability to present his point of view without completely tearing into her, into Joe Biden, into whomever was in his sights.”

Finally, Luntz said, “It was a pretty negative performance, pretty pessimistic, cynical, contemptuous. I’m trying to decide if I want to go on record, and the answer is yes. I think that, that he loses because of this debate performance.”

In a post on Truth Social after his debate, Trump wrote, “In the World of Boxing or UFC, when a Fighter gets beaten or knocked out, they get up and scream, ‘I DEMAND A REMATCH, I DEMAND A REMATCH!’ Well, it’s no different with a Debate.”

“She was beaten badly last night. Every Poll has us WINNING, in one case, 92-8, so why would I do a Rematch?” he asked.

After his debate, Trump claimed ABC News “rigged” it for Harris and suggested the network should lose its “license for the way they did that.”

However, he insisted, “We did great.”

Despite Trump’s claims, several polls have found that viewers believe that Harris won the debate.
